When the people are hoping that the COVID cases are finally decreasing, the Omicron variant has changed all the dynamics. The sudden spike of COVID positive cases is all because of the new Omicron variant which is spreading very fast and easily. There are speculations that the Omicron variant will affect everyone. Is there any truth in the speculations? What do experts have to say about this?

World Health Organization (WHO) has answered the question. WHO technical head Maria Van Kerkhove has answered a few questions regarding this. He said that the new Omicron delta variant is less intense than the COVID. However, we should not underestimate this variant. If not vaccinated, it will show adverse effects. The variant might even lead to death.

Though it is said that for the vaccinated it will be less intense, one should take precautions. UK Health Security Agency says that the Omicron variants could also avoid the vaccine.

Nandamuri Balakrishna‘s upcoming film Akhanda has been nothing less than a sensation. The film has performed very well in all areas despite COVID fears and theatrical restrictions. Akhanda has completed 50 days run which is quite rare these days. The film has completed the half-century run in 23 centers. Akhanda has managed to collect more than 69.40 Crores in its full run.

It has ended up as a huge grosser in Nizam, Ceeded, and Overseas regions. Theater rates in Andhra Pradesh are at an all-time low. The film’s business got affected by the new rates. However, it has managed to collect a decent amount of 25.1 Crores. In Overseas as well, Akhanda has grossed more than 1 Million dollars.

Overall, the film is the highest collected one for both Balakrishna and Boyapati. The hat-trick combination has however turned out to be quite fruitful.

The K Convention poker activities event has created a huge controversy. The allegations made by the opposition party are that YCP minister Kodali Nani‘s K Convention center hosted a huge casino and poker activity scandal. Telugu Desam Party leaders demanded for the expulsion of Kodali Nani from the cabinet.

However, Kodali Nani tried to hit back by asking for proof. “If they can provide proof, I myself will quit politics,” said Kodali Nani. He even said that he will die by suicide. With these comments, TDP and Janasena members had a field day by taking up the pictures and videos of the event.

With the issue getting out of hand, Kodali Nani’s best friend Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi has come out to rescue his friend. He has agreed that a “recreational event” was held for Sankranthi. But he denied allegations of any poker activities.

“The event was not held in K Convention but at a nearby place. It was arranged by my mutual friends. Kodali has no idea as he was getting treated in Hyderabad. It is not new. In the past, the TDP government used to do this. Now they are trying to politicize the issue.”

It is good that Vallabhaneni stood by the side of his friend in his tough times. But will it work or backfire? Only time will tell.

It is very well known that Adivi Sesh’s next film Major is in the making. The movie is scheduled for release on February 11th. But the official announcement now is that it has been postponed. This is expected news. The current situation in the country is not favorable for a theatrical release.

The official statement from the team reads, “Given the current situation and restrictions in various parts of the country, the release of Major stands postponed. Major is a film made for India and we will release it only when the situation improves across the country. Till then, please take care of yourselves and stay safe.”

Sashi Kiran Tikka has directed the movie and revolves around the 26/11 attacks hero Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. Sony Pictures, A+S Movies, GMB Entertainments are jointly producing this project. Saiee Manjrekar has played the female lead in the film.

After the stupendous success of the Baahubali franchise, digital medium giant Netflix, a world-class series on Baahubali’s back story. It is even titled Baahubali: Before the Beginning. The story is to narrate the backdrop of Sivagami and her characteristics. Wamiqa Gabbi was even roped in to play the titular role.

Netflix took even Praveen Sattaru and Deva Katta as the directors for the show. After months of pre-production, both the directors walked out of the project. Netflix revised the budget and took Kunal Deshmukh and Ribhu Dasgupta as the directors of this series. Mrunal Thakur replaced Wamiqa Gabbi.

Netflix spent crores of rupees and even shot for 6 months. After reviewing the content and the visual effects, Netflix has finally decided to shelve the project. Baahubali: Before the Beginning will not see the light. Netflix has allocated close to 150 Crore rupees for this project. We have to wait and see their future plans regarding the concept.

Though the Andhra Pradesh government is calling for discussions regarding the recent issue about the PRC, employees are looking out for a strike. They are adamant. AP employees are asking for the GOs to be called off.

The employees unanimously decided to give notices to the CS by 3 PM. On the other hand, the state government is making alternative arrangements to pay the salaries as per the new GOs despite the non-co-operation of treasury employees.

It was decided by the JAC that a state-level leader will be sent to each district to study the movement activities and report them daily. They also want to team up with PDF MLCs for the movement to gain momentum. On the other hand, A petition has been filed in the state high court against the revised pay scales of 2022. Andhra Pradesh high court will hear the petition today.
