The K Convention poker activities event has created a huge controversy. The allegations made by the opposition party are that YCP minister Kodali Nani‘s K Convention center hosted a huge casino and poker activity scandal. Telugu Desam Party leaders demanded for the expulsion of Kodali Nani from the cabinet.
However, Kodali Nani tried to hit back by asking for proof. “If they can provide proof, I myself will quit politics,” said Kodali Nani. He even said that he will die by suicide. With these comments, TDP and Janasena members had a field day by taking up the pictures and videos of the event.
With the issue getting out of hand, Kodali Nani’s best friend Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi has come out to rescue his friend. He has agreed that a “recreational event” was held for Sankranthi. But he denied allegations of any poker activities.
“The event was not held in K Convention but at a nearby place. It was arranged by my mutual friends. Kodali has no idea as he was getting treated in Hyderabad. It is not new. In the past, the TDP government used to do this. Now they are trying to politicize the issue.”
It is good that Vallabhaneni stood by the side of his friend in his tough times. But will it work or backfire? Only time will tell.
