After the stupendous success of the Baahubali franchise, digital medium giant Netflix, a world-class series on Baahubali’s back story. It is even titled Baahubali: Before the Beginning. The story is to narrate the backdrop of Sivagami and her characteristics. Wamiqa Gabbi was even roped in to play the titular role.
Netflix took even Praveen Sattaru and Deva Katta as the directors for the show. After months of pre-production, both the directors walked out of the project. Netflix revised the budget and took Kunal Deshmukh and Ribhu Dasgupta as the directors of this series. Mrunal Thakur replaced Wamiqa Gabbi.
Netflix spent crores of rupees and even shot for 6 months. After reviewing the content and the visual effects, Netflix has finally decided to shelve the project. Baahubali: Before the Beginning will not see the light. Netflix has allocated close to 150 Crore rupees for this project. We have to wait and see their future plans regarding the concept.
