4 YSRCP MLAs suspended for alleged cross-voting in MLC elections
Four YSRCP MLAs were suspended from the party for alleged cross-voting in the recently concluded MLC elections under the MLA quota. Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, advisor to the government made the announcement to the media a little while ago.
Undavalli Sridevi, Kotam Reddy Sridhar Reddy, Mekapati Chandrashekhar Reddy, and Anam Ramanarayan Reddy were suspended from the party for allegedly participating in the cross-voting which resulted in the party losing an MLC seat. They were suspended for violating the party’s whip in MLC elections.
Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said that it was confirmed the above-mentioned four names were involved in the cross-voting as per their initial investigation. Hence YS Jagan took the harsh decision.

Power Star Pawan Kalyan – Sai Tej have teamed up for an untitled project which is the remake of Tamil super hit Vinodaya Sitham. Samudhrakani is directing the project and People Media Factory is producing the film. The regular shooting of this project is going on at a very brisk pace.

Prominent Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi has been disqualified as a Member of Parliament. Lok Sabha Secretariat issued a notification regarding the same and also declared his constituency vacant. With this, there is a chance for a special election for the seat. It is known that Rahul Gandhi was convicted in a 2019 criminal defamation case.
Congress was furious with the decision and alleged that it was a conspiracy to silence the Wayanad MP who has been questioning Narendra Modi for his alleged relationship with Gautham Adani.
“Shri Rahul Gandhi, Member of Lok Sabha representing the Wayanad Parliamentary Constituency of Kerala stands disqualified from the membership of Lok Sabha from the date of his conviction i.e. 23 March, 2023 in terms of the provisions of Article 102(1)(e) of the Constitution of India read with Section 8 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951,” stated Lok Sabha Secretariat in the statement.

The UK Parliament has banned China’s social media app Tiktok due to security concerns. Now it cannot be used from the Wi-Fi network of the Parliament. A spokesman said the UK government had decided after a security review that ministers would not be able to use the app on their phones.
He told that many MPs use this app. Along with this, Tiktok will also be removed from the equipment given to the staff. It follows the social media app being banned on all U.K. government devices last week and came just as TikTok’s boss, Shou Zi Chew, began a crunch Congressional hearing in the U.S.
An email sent to MPs at 2 p.m. today said: “Cyber security is a top priority for us all and we believe that this is a necessary step to ensure our parliamentary digital devices remain as secure as possible.”
Tiktok has categorically denied these allegations that it gives the data of its users to the Chinese government. In its statement, the company has called this decision of Parliament based on misconceptions.
After this ban, all MPs and guests coming to Parliament will not be able to use Tiktok on their devices from the Wi-Fi network of Parliament. However, they will be able to use Tiktok on their phones with their mobile data, but the email advised them to use the web browser version, rather than downloading the app.
The ban applies to both the House of Commons and Lords. The Scottish government also announced Thursday afternoon that it had decided to ban TikTok on official devices.
TikTok has been fighting a rearguard action in recent weeks against a spate of European government and U.S. bans. Under its ‘Project Clover’ campaign, it is trying to convince lawmakers that it does not pose a security threat.
Online Rummy Prohibition Bill passed again in Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly
The Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly re-passed the Online Gambling Prohibition Act, which bans online gambling. The Tamil Nadu Governor has sent back the law that was passed earlier, but the Tamil Nadu government has passed the law again.

Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Online Gambling and Online Regulation Draft Bill, 2022 was passed by the Legislative Assembly on 19.10.2022 and sent to the Governor for assent by the Law Department on 26 October last year. The Governor had asked for some clarification on November 23. A proper explanation was sent to him in the next 24 hours. However, after 131 days of passing the bill in the Legislative Assembly, the Governor sent it back to the Speaker on March 6 this year with some notes.
Following this, the Tamil Nadu e-Gambling Prohibition and Regulation of E-commerce Bill, 2022 has again been placed before the Legislative Assembly. Again it will be sent to the Governor for his approval.
China says, US Navy intrudes into its waters, America denies
The Chinese military claimed on Thursday that a US warship had illegally intruded into the South China Sea. According to them, after this incident near Paracel Island, that warship was driven away. “The USS Milius vessel, which fired a guided missile, intruded into China’s territorial waters, disregarding the peace and stability of the region”, China said.
“The forces will maintain high alert at all times and take necessary measures to uphold the country’s sovereignty, security, peace and stability in the South China Sea,” said Tian Junli, spokesman for China’s South Command.
However, the US Navy has given its opinion keeping a different opinion from the statement of the Chinese Army. The US Navy’s Seventh Fleet said in a statement that their ship was on a “routine mission” in the South China Sea and was not evacuated. He has said that the US will continue to fly and ship wherever international law allows.
After this incident, the tension between the two countries has increased.

Abdullah said on Thursday, “I think when elections will be announced in Jammu and Kashmir, they will inaugurate the Ram temple to divert public attention, but Ram belongs to all.”
According to him, “Lord Ram is not only the God of Hindus. Get this out of your mind. Lord Ram is everyone’s God, be it Muslim, Christian, American, Russian. As we say that Allah is not only the Lord of Muslims, He is the Lord of all.
“A very old professor of Pakistan, Maulana Asrar, who has just passed away, says in his tafsir, “You people should remember that Lord Ram, who is there, is also sent by Allah to show people the right path.”
“Those who come to you saying we are only disciples of Ram – they are fools. They want to sell in the name of Ram. They do not have a love for Ram but for power,” he said.
On unity among non-BJP parties, he said, “There will be no hurdle in our unity. Whether it is Congress, NC, or Panthers. We will fight and die for people. But we all will remain united.” He raised questions about electronic voting machines and asked people to remain cautious about its use.
He also warned people against religious polarisation ahead of the election in the Union Territory. “They will use ‘Hindus are in danger’ a lot during the elections… but I request you to not fall prey to it.”
What will happen to Rahul Gandhi ‘s Lok Sabha membership?
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been sentenced to two years imprisonment by a Surat court in a four-year-old criminal defamation case. However, he has also got bail immediately. The court has given Rahul Gandhi 30 days to appeal against the sentence in the higher court.
Legal experts said that a member of the House is not disqualified just by being proved guilty. Rahul will have to immediately appeal in the High Court i.e. Gujarat High Court and take a stay on the decision.
“Under the Representation of the People Act of 1951, there are several criteria to disqualify a member from the house. Such as if the MP of any house has been convicted of an offense for more than six years, or he has been convicted for some other sections such as section 153A (offence of promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, etc., and acts prejudicial to the maintenance of harmony) or section 171F (offence relating to undue influence at election).”
Also, any person convicted of any offense not specified under the Representation of the People Act, 1951, who has been sentenced to imprisonment for more than two years, would be disqualified from the same day and six months before coming out. He will remain ineligible until the end of the year.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, “We were guessing about it. Rahul has also got bail. We will decide the future course of action according to the Constitution. The BJP points fingers at everyone except itself.”
Describing the BJP government as a dictator, the Congress chief claimed that Rahul Gandhi is exposing the dark deeds of the government, so the government is upset with him.
