Mani Ratnam‘s latest historical drama Ponniyin Selvan-1 is continuing its golden run at the box office. The movie has so far collected Rs. 300 Crores and is now the fourth Tamil movie to hit the landmark. Bigil, 2.0, and Vikram are the previous films to hit the landmark.
Ponniyin Selvan has seen mixed results in Telugu and Hindi. The collections for these versions are average but the movie is a massive blockbuster in Tamil Nadu. Even overseas, the movie is continuing the dream run. Ponniyin Selvan has so far collected $4.7 million and is racing towards $5 million.
Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Sobhita Dhulipala played crucial roles in the movie. AR Rahman is the music composer for the film.
