It was a completely one-sided contest yesterday in the IPL 2022. Rather we can say that two cricketers made the contest extremely one-sided. One with the ball and the other with the bat. Yes, you guessed it rights. Umesh Yadav once again successfully handed over the first wicket in his first over to the team. He has done that in three matches straight. Not only that, in his second spell, he picked up two wickets in his second spell and a wicket maiden in his third.

Batting first Punjab Kings hadn’t had a dream start, like their previous match. Mayank Agarwal went cheaply. Bhanuka Rajapaksa made batting look like child’s play. He scored 31 in just 9 balls. He came, scored, went, all quickly. No Punjab Kings batter applied themselves. Rabada gave some finishing touches taking PBKS to 137 which is never sufficient with so much dew around.

However, Punjab bowlers responded beautifully. They reduced KKR to 56 for 4 and when they are in a spot of bother, Andre Russell came and conquered. He scored 70 in just 31 balls of which 8 are sixers. Umesh Yadav was adjudged Player of the Match.
