The match falls on Rama Navami day which will be celebrated fervently across the state. This is the Kolkata Knight Riders home game which Eden Gardens is supposed to host.
According to the latest update, this match might be pushed to a later date or could be relocated to another venue. The broadcasters, both the franchises, the state association, and all parties have been hinted about it.
With the festival around and the elections going on in the nation at that time, the authorities are unsure whether they can provide adequate security for the game that night. BCCI and Cricket Association of Bengal are in constant touch with the Bengal Police and a decision regarding it will be taken very soon.
In the wake of the elections, the BCCI has prepared the match schedule in two phases. The first schedule with 21 matches was released and then the remaining 53 matches schedule was released as well.
