Today’s auction for the IPL 2024 is creating huge records. A couple of hours back we saw Australian captain Pat Cummins getting sold for Rs. 20.50 Crores to Sunrisers Hyderabad which is the most expensive buy. But the record is shortlived as we have another shocking buy.
Another Australian pace Mitchell Starc goes for a whopping Rs. 24.75 Crores. Kolkata Knight Riders picked the star left-hand pacer for an unbelievable price. The auction for Mitchell Starc started at his base price of Rs. 2 Crores. Delhi Capitals started the bid and Mumbai Indians immediately joined for him.
Kolkata Knight Riders joined the bid at Rs. 9.80 Crores and was accompanied by Gujarat Titans. The fierce battle between the two franchises continued until KKR finally grabbed him for Rs. 24.75 Crores. It is the highest bid a player has ever got in the history of IPL.
Kolkata Knight Riders still have Rs. 6.95 Crores in their purse and only 16 players are filled in the 25 players quota.
