A US Federal agency has announced that they have reached a sufficient cap for the H1b visas for the fiscal year 2022. The H1b is essential for foreigners to work in the country. These visas are issued by the US Legislature for a maximum of 65,000 per year. Another 20,000 visas will be issued under the US Advanced Degree Extension. It is a non-immigrant visa.
The H1b is one of the most sought-after work visas among foreign professionals, especially Indians. US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will screen the visa applications every year and this time too after screening they have announced that the cap limit is reached.
Unused visas in this fiscal year will be available for H1b use in the next fiscal year. “We will continue to accept and process petitions that are otherwise exempt from the cap,” said the agency in a statement.
