It is well known that Instagram’s parent company META has launched a new platform Threads which is similar to the micro-blogging platform Twitter. Threads witnessed more than 20 Million signups in no time and there are predictions that Threads can overtake Twitter.

Now, Twitter has threatened META regarding legal action. Twitter’s lawyer Alex Spiro sent a letter to META CEO Mark Zuckerberg. In the letter, Spiro accused Mark of using Twitter’s trade secrets in launching Threads. Spiro who is also Musk’s personal lawyer alleged META being involved in “systematic, willful, and unlawful misappropriation of Twitter’s trade secrets and other intellectual proper.

Reacting to this news, Elon Musk on Twitter posted, “Competition is fine, Cheating not.” Spiro further alleged that Threads hired Twitter’s former employees who still had access to its confidential information and used them in launching the app.

Andy Stone, META spokesperson made it clear that Threads doesn’t have any former Twitter employees.
