In a tragic and unfortunate incident, a software engineer in Hyderabad breathed his last after falling in an uncovered water sump in a hostel building in Gachibowli. Going into the details, techie, Sheikh Akmal Sufiyan, 24, returned to the hostel building after buying some groceries and he didn’t recognize the water sump door was opened.
He took a few steps and fell into the uncovered water sump and in the process his chin hit the concrete rim. A child living near the hostel building sensed someone had fallen into the water sump and alerted a man who peeped into the sump but couldn’t find any.
In the evening, the people checked the CC cameras and found that Sufiyan had fallen into it. His body was retrieved from the sump but by that time he was dead. The Raidurgam Police reached the hostel and filed a case against Mahender Reddy, PG hostel owner for his negligence in leaving the water sump door open. Further investigation is going on in this regard.
