Team India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is going to miss the three-match ODI series versus Sri Lanka. Initially, Bumrah was included in the squad upon the recommendation of the all-India selection committee. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sources have revealed that the decision was taken not to rush Bumrah into the mix.
It is known that Bumrah sustained a back injury that kept him out of action since September 2022. He even missed the recently concluded T20 world cup. He was declared fit by the National Cricket Academy after he has undergone rehabilitation. He was expected to join the squad but a call not to include him was taken so as not to rush him into action so soon.
The decision was taken as some important assignments are coming up with the Australia test series and ODI world cup coming this year.
