Allrounder Ravindra Jadeja who made his comeback after a gap of nearly five months has declared it in style by picking up a fifer. As a result, Australia was bundled out for 177 with Jadeja picking five wickets and Ashwin scalping three wickets. The pacers Shami and Siraj accounted for both the openers.
Winning the toss, and electing to bat first, Australia was down to 2/2 in no time. However, both Smith and Labuschane stitched fifty partnerships and steadied the ship. However, from 89/2 Australia slipped to 109/5, thanks to the brilliance of Jadeja. Apart from Handscomb and Carey’s fifty partnership, there is nothing to showcase for Australia.
It was a very disciplined bowling display from India and now, the team will look to take the advantage to their favor. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul will open the innings shortly.
