Team India fast bowler Mohammed Shami has been ruled out of the South Africa tests. The fast-bowling Talisman has been included in the squad subject to fitness clearance. Shami is nursing an ankle injury and the recovery hasn’t been addressed completely. The lack of Shami in the squad is a big blow to the test team, especially when they are looking to rewrite history.

India has never won a test series in South Africa. Last time, the team went a step closer by winning the first test but lost the next two tests. The selection committee hasn’t announced any replacement for Shami but five fast bowling options were available with them. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, Prasidh Krishna, and Mukesh Kumar are available in the squad.

Coming to the ODI squad, Deepak Chahar has been withdrawn from the ODI series due to a family emergency. Bengal seamer Akash Deep was named his replacement. Also, Rahul Dravid and Co will not be coaching the ODI squad for the three ODI series.
