Congress leader Jaiveer Shergill has resigned from the post and the party membership today. This is a huge setback for the party which is already lying low. He cited the reason for his resignation as the vision of the decision-makers is no longer in sync with the aspirations of the youth.
He complained that the public and national interests are being ignored in the party and self-interests are taking center stage. Shergill sent his resignation letter to Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi. Shergill added in the letter that he cannot accept something like that.
Shergill who hails from Punjab is a lawyer and is one of the influential young leaders of the state. Losing him is a huge loss for the opposition party. Of late, Congress is witnessing young leaders leaving the party.
