The fate of the Asia Cup 2023 is likely to be decided on May 28th, according to the sources of BCCI. It is said that the board has invited the heads of Sri Lanka Cricket, Afghanistan Cricket Board, and Bangladesh Cricket Board for the IPL final and there are high chances that there could be an announcement regarding the Asia Cup future during the final.
The Asian boards will have a meeting on the sidelines of the summit clash in Ahmedabad on May 28th. Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary and Asian Cricket Council President stated that the respective presidents of the Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka Cricket boards will grace the Tata IPL 2023 final to be held at Narendra Modi Stadium. We will hold discussions with them for outlining the future course of action in relation to Asia Cup 2023, he said.
BCCI is thinking of shifting the matches they play in the tournament to either UAE or Sri Lanka.
