It is very well known that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has virtually inaugurated the ‘Vikramaditya Vedic Clock’ in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain which is based on the Indian Panchang. At the time of inauguration, the official statement reads, “The Indian system of time calculation is the oldest, subtle, pure, error-free, authentic and reliable method in the world. This most reliable system is being re-established in the form of Vikramaditya Vedic Clock in Ujjain.”
The experts believe that the Centre of Time Calculation has been considered at Ujjain for a very long time. The Tropic of Cancer passes through the city. the standard time of the world was determined from Ujjain 300 years ago.
The Vedic clock was mounted on an 85-foot tower within Jantar Mantar in Ujjain. This unique clock also provides information on planetary positions. The clock also indicates Indian Standard Time (IST) and Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
The clock would also provide details like moon position, Parva, Shubhshubh Muhurat, Ghati, Nakshatra, solar eclipse, lunar eclipse, etc.
