Indian Archers triumph in Archery World Cup Stage 1, set for Gold Medal Clash

The Indian archery team comprising Tarundeep Rai, Dhiraj Bommadevara, and Pravin Jadhav secured a spot in the men’s team recurve final at the Archery World Cup Stage 1 in Shanghai. They will face off against the Olympic champions from Korea in the gold medal clash. India’s compound teams also made it to the finals, guaranteeing at least two medals.

In the recurve event, India qualified behind South Korea and defeated Italy 5-1 in the semi-finals. They will compete against Korea’s Tokyo Olympics gold medalists in the final.

Meanwhile, in the compound event, Priyansh and Jyothi Surekha Vennam advanced to the individual semi-finals. The Indian men’s recurve team, seeded second, overcame Indonesia 5-3 and Spain 5-1 in their matches.

However, the Indian women’s team, ranked sixth, faced a setback, losing to Mexico after leading 3-1 initially. Despite starting well in the second set, their performance declined, resulting in a 3-5 defeat.
