Samantha has played the lead role in the mythological drama Shaakunthalam. Gunasekhar has directed the film. The entire shooting got completed in 2021 but the post-production activities delayed the release. Now that, they have neared the completion, the team is up with the official news.
Samantha will be seen in the titular role while Malayalam actor Dev Mohan plays King Dushyant in the movie. Shaakunthalam will release on February 17th, 2023. It is a massive budget film that will be released in 3D as well in the languages Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada.
Shaakunthalam is based on the Kaalidas’s Sanskrit play “Abhignaana Shaakunthalam”. Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Madhu Bala, Gautami, and others played key roles. Mani Sharma is the music composer of the movie.
