Akkineni Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya starrer Bangarraju got released for Sankranthi amid COVID fears. The movie has cashed in on the advantage in Andhra Pradesh for the first weekend. However, it couldn’t sustain the collections afterward. Though there is no competition in Telangana and Overseas, Bangarraju failed to cash in. Overall, it ended up as an average grosser.
Coming to the business perspective, Zee studios have bagged the whole rights of the movie which includes theatrical, satellite, and digital even before the shooting completion. Nagarjuna is said to have pocketed a cool Rs. 20 Crores from the project.
However, Zee Studios who has taken the risk by purchasing the whole rights has nothing to boast of. It should see whether the digital and satellite rights will come to the rescue or not.
