2015 super hit movie Soggade Chinni Nayana has got a sequel with the title Bangarraju. The movie got released today on the occasion of Sankranthi. Akkineni Naga Chaitanya has played a crucial role in the film. Let us see how the movie is.

Story:

The story of Bangarraju (Nagarjuna) starts where Soggade Chinni Nayana has ended. Bangarraju is now in heaven and now Chinna Bangarraju (Naga Chaitanya) continues what Bangarraju has left. He is now the romantic playboy of the village. He tries to woo Naga Lakshmi (Krithi Shetty) but to little success.

On the other hand, some baddies eye Sivapuram Temple’s wealth, and for that Chinna Bangarraju has to be eliminated. Circumstances come in such a way that Bangarraju has to come back to earth again. What are the consequences of that and how Bangarraju helps his grandson is to be seen on the big screen.

Performances:

Nagarjuna carries the same energy as Soggade Chinni Nayana in Bangarraju as well. He completely owned the character and it is a tailor-made role for him. His charm worked in favor of the film. His entertainment is a huge plus for the film.

Akkineni Naga Chaitanya plays a role that is very similar to Bangarraju. Though he couldn’t match the energy levels of Nagarjuna, he is decent too. His mannerisms are cool. Krithi Shetty is fine, she looks gorgeous. However, her character wasn’t etched well. Ramya Krishna performed well as well. When compared with Soggade Chinni Nayana, she hasn’t got so much scope to perform. Sampath Raj, Vennela Kishore, Rao Ramesh, Jhansi, and Others are okay in their respective roles.

Technicalities:

Anup Rubens’s music is adequate. Even though we try to avoid it, there is a comparison throughout the movie regarding Soggade Chinni Nayana. The songs are not as successful as the first part. More than the audio version, the songs are shot beautifully. Cinematographer Yuvaraj has done a commendable job. The village atmosphere, the heaven sequences were showcased well. The art department should get special mention as well.

Editing should have been better. Production values are superb. Director Kalyan Krishna Kurasala has come up with a neat story and has done a decent job for most of the parts. However, the comparison again hinders the experience now. Predictability plays a spoilsport.

Analysis:

Director Kalyan Krishna Kurasala bounced back with this movie. Bangarraju is entertaining in the first half with breezy episodes. Though there is nothing new to offer and for the audience who watched Soggade Chinni Nayana, Bangarraju has nothing new to offer. Nevertheless, Bangarraju is going to be a decent experience this festival season. Don’t miss if you are an Akkineni fan or out looking for a village entertainer.
