Rohit Sharma yesterday made it clear that he will be having a new opening partner. This means that Yashasvi Jaiswal will be given India cap and he will be opening alongside Rohit Sharma. Shubhman Gill who is opening in the tests with the captain will have a new role at No. 3. Rohit Sharma said that it was Shubhman Gill’s choice to demote himself to the new role.
In the press meet, Rohit Sharma also indicated the inclusion of the second spinner. Ravichandran Ashwin who missed the WTC final is all set to make a return to the test side. On the other hand, Jaydev Unadkat is likely to be in the playing XI and brings left-arm pace into the equation. However, the wicket-keeper role is still a mystery.
