Just four days before the start of the West Indies series, India has got a huge blow in the form of COVID. It is said that as many 7 members of the Indian camp, of which four are players have been tested COVID positive. All the seven are under the observation of the BCCI medical team and have self-isolated themselves.

The four players are  Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Navdeep Saini, who was picked as a reserve fast bowler. Among the three support staff,  fielding coach T Dilip, security liaison officer B Lokesh and sports massage therapist Rajeev Kumar have contracted the virus.

The BCCI has revealed that the positive results came after the camp had gone through three rounds of RT-PCR tests after they landed in Ahmedabad on January 31st. BCCI secretary Jay Shah revealed the developments to the media and has also stated that Mayank Agarwal has been named as a replacement. He will join the ODI squad.
