Team India’s middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer is now doubtful for the third test that will be played at Rajkot. The injury woes are continuing for Team India as after the likes of Jadeja and KL Rahul, now Shreyas Iyer is also doubtful for the third test.
According to the MCA sources, Shreyas Iyer has complained of back stiffness. The National Cricket Academy has written to the BCCI about his fitness status. The squad for the third test is yet to be announced by the cricket board as it will only start on the 15th.
The selectors were originally scheduled to meet on February 8th but are now likely to do so today with a formal announcement of the squad expected thereafter. Shreyas Iyer has been battling back troubles in the last 12 months. He missed the start of the Border-Gavaskar trophy but his condition flared up during the fourth test. He missed the bulk of the year’s cricket due to the same issue.
