BCCI has announced the 30-member list of centrally contracted players and the main focus on the list is that both Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan have been excluded from the Central contracts. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja are the players with Grade A+, and KL Rahul, Shubhman Gill, and Mohammed Siraj have been elevated to Grade A. Rishabh Pant who has been missing the action for the past 18 months finds himself in Grade B.

Ignoring domestic season when not playing International games is said to be the main reason behind BCCI not considering both players. Hardik Pandya, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Mohammed Shami have retained their Grade A status. 10 New players are included in the Grade C category which includes Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, Ravi Bishnoi, Jitesh Sharma, Mukesh Kumar, Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan, Rajat Patidar. Yashasvi Jaiswal was directly placed in the Grade B category. The likes of Cheteshwar Pujara, Umesh Yadav, Shikhar Dhawan, Deepak Hooda, and Yuzvendra Chahal have been excluded.

These contracts will be applicable between October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024.
