Prabhas for the first time is attempting a Bollywood flick and he has chosen the mythology drama Adipurush. Om Raut directed the movie. From the most trolled movie to the most awaited film, Adipurush has seen it all. The film has finally been released today. Let us check out the review.

Story:

Adipurush starts with the Aranyakanda in Ramayana. What happens when Lankesh (Saif Ali Khan) abducts Janaki (Kriti Sanon) and how Raghava (Prabhas) reacts to it forms the crux of the story.

Performances:

Prabhas’ personal traits complement well with that of Lord Rama. He looks innocent, calm, and composed just like Rama. As Prabhas said, it is a blessing to play the role but he might have missed hitting the bull’s eye. He tried his best to be the best version of Lord Rama but couldn’t fulfill it completely. Nevertheless, it is a sincere effort for a herculean task.

Kriti Sanon has got less screen space than expected. However, she impressed completely. Kriti Sanon justified the role to perfection. Sunny Singh and Devadatta Nage in the roles of Lakshman and Hanuman were good. The Vaanarasena represented in the movie are not too appealing.

Saif Ali Khan in the role of Lankesh is another disappointment. Though he gave his best, the role wasn’t designed properly.

Technicalities:

First of all, Om Raut must be commended for the effort. Not many can dare to do this kind of timeless epic. It is kind of dealing with a double-edged sword. He along with his team worked hard for the betterment of VFX which was evident onscreen. It was N times better than what we saw in the teaser. But still, we miss the authentic feel. While he dealt with the first half rather neatly, the complaint lies with the second half and the climax is a letdown.

The background music of Adipurush is a main asset. Many sequences got elevated in the right portions with the VFX. The cinematography is another plus. While the editing is neat, the production values are top-notch.

Analysis:

Adipurush can’t be termed a timeless classic from which it was adapted. On the other hand, we can’t completely strike it off. Adipurush is a film that can be watched once with lower expectations. If you don’t question what is happening onscreen then the film can be enjoyed.
