Adipurush has completed its second weekend on a very poor note. After a decent first weekend, Adipurush completely fizzled out and the collections dropped drastically. There is no rise in the collections in the second weekend as well. The movie’s second weekend didn’t see any jump in the collections.
So far, Adipurush has collected Rs. 342 Cr gross worldwide, and the share stands at Rs. 179 Crore (including GST). The majority loss comes from South India as the film was bought for Rs. 175 Crores and only Rs. 95 Crores were collected from South India.
In North India and other places, the producers went for their own release thus minimizing the losses. In these areas, they might see just a breakeven and nothing more than that. Released on June 16th, Adipurush saw extremely negative reviews and people criticized it for the content it had. Though the makers later explained the film is not Ramayana, the damage was already done by then.
Directed by Om Raut, Prabhas and Kriti Sanon played the lead roles. Saif Ali Khan was seen in a negative role.
