Rishi Sunak: Committed to working quickly on FTA

Indian-origin UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak revealed that he is committed to working on the ongoing Free Trade Agreement (FTA) talks with India as quickly as possible. He revealed that both Indian Prime Minister Modi and he have discussed the free trade agreement with India.

“Both Modi and I committed our teams to work as quickly as possible to see if we can bring a successful conclusion to the negotiations,” he said. The UK leader updated Parliament during the House of Commons session on the G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia.

Opposition Labour Party Leader Keir Starmer questioned Sunak and his Conservative Party MPs on the timeline for the completion of the agreement with India.
