It is good news for Indian Students who want to pursue higher education in the USA. US embassy official in Delhi Patricia Lasina on Tuesday has said that a record number of visas will be issued this year surpassing the last year (2021). She said that a record number of 62,000 Indian Students were issued visas last year.
Speaking at the Student Visa Day held at the Embassy on Tuesday, Lasina said that, a total of one lakh applications for admission in various institutions are in consideration for this year. The US has delayed understanding the interest of Indians in foreign education, said Lasina. She has also said that after seeing the growth in the revenues of countries like Australia and Canada, the US has decided to welcome a large number of foreign students.
On this occasion, she pointed out that more than 2 lakh Indian students are currently studying in the top nation.
