Legendary music director and singer Ghantasala’s centennial birth anniversary celebrations happened in a grand style in New Jersey. The centenary celebrations of Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao were celebrated on Sunday at the Royal Albert Palace in Edison, New Jersey. The program was held under the guidance of Ghantasala Sangeet College International (GSKI) under the chairmanship of Anna Madhusudana Rao.

NRIs were entertained by the Ghantasala’s songs performed during the centennial celebrations. The video message sent by Ghantasala’s wife Savitri from India filled the memories of the great singer’s songs in everyone’s mind. Ghantasala’s daughter Suguna and his daughter-in-law Krishnakumari sent messages wishing the centenary celebrations a success.

On this occasion, Krishnakumari opined Ghantasala to be honored with Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award. 20 members of GSKI paid tribute to the centenary singer by chanting the 101 slokas of Bhagavad Gita which was initially chanted by Ghantasala. The members say it is one of a kind. Famous film singer Aditya Iyengar sang Ghantasala songs and impressed the listeners.
