The Telugu Desam Party has once again demanded Bharat Ratna to the legendary Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. It’s been a long demand from the political party that its founder be conferred with the most prestigious honor in the nation. In 2024, Bharat Ratna was conferred to some legendary personalities like Karpoori Thakur, LK Advani, PV Narasimha Rao, Charan Singh, and MS Swaminathan. Many Telugu people feel that the legendary actor and political Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao is also a deserving candidate for the prestigious honor.
Now, TDP Rajya Sabha member, Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar wrote two separate letters to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and Union Home Minister, Amith Shah explaining the contributions NTR made to the Telugu people and the nation. He stated in the letter that NT Rama Rao introduced several welfare schemes which are still even implemented in many states all over the nation. He termed NTR as the source of inspiration.
