Ever since Elon Musk took over the charge of Twitter, he brought on many revelations to the micro-blogging site, and charging the customers for verified blue ticks to the accounts is one such change. It has become a norm now and the users of Twitter are getting accustomed to it.

Looks like, the other social media platforms are following the same as well. Facebook parental company META has now announced similar changes to the verified accounts. From here on, Facebook verified badged will be costing users $14.99 on iOS and $11.99 on the web.

“The subscription service that lets you verify your account with a government ID, get a blue badge, get extra impersonation protection against accounts claiming to be you, and get direct access to customer support,” posted META’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg on his official account.

We have to wait and see how this move will be taken up by its users.
