The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is criticizing the YSRCP government for choosing a costly US-based company, Critical River, over the free software from the National Informatics Centre (NIC) for land titling. They question why a private company’s software was chosen for Rs 34 crore when NIC’s software is efficient and almost free.

TDP highlights their own CARD software introduced in 1998, saying the YSRCP government’s decision seems suspicious, especially as 17 states use NIC’s software. TDP raises concerns about Critical River’s capability to manage land records securely, given its small size, and questions the selection process and the total amount paid to the company.

They demand transparency about the agreements with Critical River, the work scope, and worry about the safety of property records stored with a private company, fearing possible tampering risks.
