There is an exponential rise in COVID infections in South Korea. The nation has recorded over 6 lakh new infections which is the highest daily spike South Korea has come across so far. On Thursday, The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency has revealed that 6,21,328 were registered in a single day which is a record. It is an alarming 55 percent rise in just one day. The nation has recorded 429 new deaths as well.

According to the officials, the total infections recorded so far have crossed 8,250,592. They have said that most of the infections are locally transmitted.

With the sudden surge, the government mandates wearing masks in all public indoor and outdoor spaces.

Not only South Korea, but there is also this sudden rise in COVID infections in countries like Vietnam, Germany, and UK. These nations are reporting more than 1 lakh infections per day.
