Biswanath Patnaik, Indian Billionaire donates Rs. 250 Crores to UK’s first Jagannath temple

n Indian Origin billionaire named Biswanath Patnaik has donated Rs. 250 Crores for the construction of the UK’s first Jagannath temple that is being constructed in London. Biswanath Patnaik who hails from Odisha pledged to donate the amount to the charity organization which is building the temple. It is said that the first phase of the temple is expected to be completed by the end of next year.

Biswanath Patnaik’s donation is one of the largest donations ever made to a temple abroad. Shree Jagannatha Society, registered with the charity commission in England revealed that the donation announcement came on Akshaya Tritiya on Sunday.

The announcement stated that Rs. 70 Crores from Rs. 250 Crores will be spent in acquiring land of nearly 15 acres for the Shree Jagannatha Mandir in London. Reports say that suitable land has already been recognized and the purchase transactions have begun.
