The much-awaited, biggest event of the cricket tournaments, the ODI World Cup 2023 will kickstart today. After 12 years, India is hosting the World Cup and has high expectations. The first match of this mega tournament will be between England and New Zealand, the last edition’s finalists.
Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi stadium will host the tournament opener and the match will kickstart today at 2 PM. Each team will play the other 9 teams in the league fixtures. The league games will end on November 12th. The final of the World Cup will be played at Ahmedabad again on November 19th.
India will start its World Cup journey against Australia in Chennai on the 8th of this month. After exiting the tournament in the semifinal in the last edition, India is looking to clinch the trophy for the third time. While India emerged victorious when the World Cup was hosted in the sub-continent, there are sky-high expectations for the team.
