The danger bells are ringing again. COVID cases which the entire world put behind and are progressing forward are coming back to haunt with a new Omicron subvariant JN.1. The COVID-positive cases are increasing in the nation. Today, four new COVID positive cases were registered in Telangana. Yesterday, there were reports that four COVID deaths have been reported.

With this, the central government has sent directives to all the state departments including the Telugu States. Union Medical and Health Department directed the state governments to stay vigilant in the wake of the rise in COVID-19 infections.

Special instructions have been sent to the superintendents of hospitals. It is advised to make COVID masks and test kits available. A special ward for COVID patients with 50 beds has been set up in the Gandhi hospital. People are also advised to be alert to the new variant. On the other hand, the AP government has started precautionary measures as well. All those with the symptoms will be tested with immediate effect.
