Amaravati farmers have been protesting against the government for the past 1500 days. Today is the 1500th day of the protest. Today they held a protest at the Mandadam village and on this occasion they pledged to defeat the ruling YSR Congress party. The farmers called for every member of the farmer family to vote against YSRCP. They blamed the ruling party for bringing in the new three-capital formula instead of developing the proposed Amaravathi capital city.
The farmers said that they sacrificed their lands for the benefit of the state through a land pooling system. The farmers haven’t taken any money from the government as compensation, they said. Instead, the farmers believed that the region would be developed. Constructing Amaravathi as the capital city would have changed their lives said the farmers in the protest.
They said that the present government would be washed away in the tears of the farmers. The farmers also called the agriculture laborers in the state to vote against YSRCP.
