Will Amaravati public’s fate change with Andhra Pradesh 2024 elections?

Amaravati, the people’s capital, Andhra Pradesh

The dream of Amaravati as Andhra Pradesh’s new capital has not turned out as expected. After five years, Amaravati looks deserted with unfinished buildings and abandoned projects, making local people, especially farmers, very tragic.

As the May 2023 elections near, people are talking a lot about capital cities. The YSR Congress Party, led by CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, has a new idea of having three capitals: Visakhapatnam for business, Amaravati for laws, and Kurnool for courts.

This change has upset many, especially farmers who gave their land to the city. Jagan’s government stopped many projects in Amaravati, making people’s lives even more tragic. Some new plans to build houses on the land made things worse.

The issue of the capital is now a big topic in election discussions, making voters upset about the lack of progress and job opportunities. Even with all the arguments and legal fights, nobody knows what will happen to Amaravati. People share stories of disappointment and money problems because of the halted projects.

The elections are important because parties will talk about how they plan to develop the state and fix Amaravati’s problems. This situation shows how hard it is to make everyone happy and how important it is to plan for long-term growth that benefits everyone.
