Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla has communicated to the chief secretaries of all states that the current restrictions of COVID will end on March 31st and the govt has no plans to issue new orders. That means that the COVID restrictions in the nation are going to end on the above-said date.

However, wearing a face mask and maintaining social distancing norms will continue as usual. It has been 2 years that the nation has started implementing COVID restrictions after the first wave hit the country on March 24th, 2020 Disaster Management Act, (DM Act) 2005.

From the past seven weeks, the positive cases in the country are under control and there has been a steep decline. After monitoring the positive cases and deaths all over the country, Union Home Secretary has issued the statement.
