Today, India reported 4,435 new COVID-19 cases which is the highest in 163 days. Union Health Ministry data reveals that the active number of cases increased to 23,091. The total number of positive COVID cases climbed to 4.47 crore. The nation reported 15 deaths in the last 24 hours and thus the total of deaths due to COVID got increased to 5,30,916.
Four each of the deaths are from Maharashtra and Kerala while one death each was reported from Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Puducherry, and Rajasthan.
Currently, active positive cases comprise 0.05 percent of the total infections. The national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.76 percent. While the daily positivity rate is at 3.38 percent and the weekly positivity rate is 2.79 percent.
