Former Cricketer Harbhajan Singh has filed his nomination today as the AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP. Five Rajya Sabha seats will fall vacant from Punjab and with this, AAP’s strength in Rajya Sabha will increase from 3 to 8. AAP has won 92 of the total 117 seats in Punjab.

Aam Aadmi Party’s official social media handle posted the news. “Cricketer @harbhajan_singh files his nomination as AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab. After making India Proud as a bowling legend, Mr. Turbanator is now going to raise his voice for the people of Punjab in Parliament.”

Along with Harbhajan Singh, AAP’s spokesperson Raghav Chadha, IIT professor Sandeep Pathak, Educationist & Chancellor of Lovely Professional University, Dr. Ashok Mittal, Ludhiana based Industrialist Mr. Sanjeev Arora have also filed their nominations as Rajya Sabha MPs.

The Rajya Sabha elections will be held on March 31st and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is on March 24th.
