Cricket Australia’s regular test captain Pat Cummins has preferred to stay back in Australia and thus he is set to miss the fourth and final test that will be played in the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. With Pat Cummins being unavailable, the stand-in captain Steve Smith will continue to lead the side.

Smith’s spirited captaincy in the Indore test resulted in a nine-wicket victory for them and now it is their chance to level the series with a win in the final test. It is still unclear at the moment whether Cummins will be available for the ODI series against India that starts on March 17th.

It is known that Cummins was named the ODI captain as well. Meanwhile, Jhye Richardson is going to miss the ODI series against India due to a hamstring injury. Nathan Ellis is going to replace him.
