The first test match between India and Sri Lanka is scheduled to be played in Mohali from March 4th. Initially, the BCCI has decided to play this match with no crowds. However, with an encouraging dip in the COVID cases and having taken the present circumstances into consideration, the board has decided to allow crowds into the stadium.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah has confirmed the news. In a statement released by him, he has said that “I have spoken with PCA office bearers and they have confirmed that cricket lovers will be able to witness the historic moment. I am really looking forward to Virat Kohli’s 100th test and wish our champion cricketer the very best. May he continue to represent the country in many more matches to come.”

This will also be Rohit Sharma’s first match as Test captain. After wrapping up the T20 series in style, Rohit Sharma is looking forward to the test series. Virat Kohli has taken a break for the T20 series.
