It is quite unfortunate for India Wicket Keeper batsman Sanju Samson who has been looking to cement his place in the Indian side. He was injured during the first T20I versus Sri Lanka. He hurt his knee while fielding at the boundary. In an attempt to save a boundary, Sanju Samson hurt his knee.

However, he continued to field the rest of the match. After consultation with the BCCI medical team, it was advised to take rest and undergo rehabilitation.

Sanju Samson hasn’t had the best of the matches as he got out for just 5 and dropped an easy catch while fielding. This is surely a bad thing for him. He is waiting for an opportunity for a long time and when the time comes, he was injured and will be out of the side.

Vidarbha Wicket Keeper batsman Jitesh Sharma was called as the backup for Ishan Kishan who kept wickets in the first T20I. The second match will be played in Pune today.
