Former Indian Cricketer Roger Binny who is a member of the winning team of the 1983 world cup is all set to replace Saurav Ganguly as the BCCI President. The BCCI meeting was held at Trident Hotel in Mumbai where all office bearers from various associations filed nominations for different positions on the board. The elections were scheduled to take place on October 18th.

The nominations can be filed on October 11th and 12th. The scrutiny for nominations will take place on October 13th and the candidates can withdraw their nominations by the 14th. Roger Binny, aged 67, is currently serving as the President of the Karnataka State Cricket Association. He is currently the frontrunner to become Ganguly’s successor while Team India’s ex-captain Ganguly is tipped to be India’s representative for the International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman’s post.

On the other hand, Jay Shah is likely to retain his position as the BCCI secretary. BJP MLA Ashish Shelar might replace Arun Dhumal as the BCCI’s treasurer, BCCI sources confirm.
