India’s star pacer Mohammad Shami who is eyeing a return in the limited overs format has now been ruled out of the Australia T20Is. The Veteran pacer has tested COVID positive and he hasn’t reached Mohali which is the venue for the first T20I. The match will start on September 20th.

Now, it is likely that Umesh Yadav, another veteran pacer is going to replace him. However, his availability is subject to the jCOVID test which will happen soon.

India and Australia will play three T20Is with the other two matches to be played at Nagpur on September 23rd and the last one at Hyderabad on September 25th. Following this series, India will play three T20I matches against South Africa which will be played between September 28th and October 2nd.

Shami has been picked in the side after almost a year and he is looking to make it count. However, COVID is a major setback for him now.
