The trend is slowly changing. The teams batting first are learning to win the matches. The match between Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings was supposed to be a tight contest but Liam Livingstone’s all-round brilliance has handed the Punjab Kings their second win and Chennai Super Kings has lost their third match on the trot. This is already their worst start since 2008.
Batting first Punjab is rocked early with the wickets of Mayank Agarwal and Bhanuka Rajapaksa. However, Dhawan and Livingstone steadied the ship. Livingstone continued the flow of runs even though Dhawan fell at 33. In the 20 overs, PBKS managed only 180 runs. At that point in time, CSK would have thought that they could easily chase the score.
However, Vaibhav Arora and Kagiso Rabada made sure the ball did the talking. Especially, the youngster impressed everyone. Rahul Chahar and Liam Livingstone were among the pick of wickets as CSK got bundled out cheaply for 126. Only Shivam Dube (57) managed to get some runs.
