The test series between India and South Africa is done and dusted. India after giving much expectations by winning the first test later lost the steam. They lost back to back series and the golden opportunity to win the series as well. There are many reasons for the lose and there is no time to ponder over what happened wrong.

The ODI series is going to kick start from today. The tour will conclude with this 3 match ODI series. With Rohit Sharma missing the duties due to his hamstring, KL Rahul is named captain of the team. Let us have a look at the probable XI for the first ODI.

KL Rahul has made it clear that he will open the innings and Shikhar Dhawan might be sharing the opening duties with him. The third spot needs no discussion. Virat Kohli is looking forward to repeat to heroics of his last tour here. Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant will share the middle order. The much promising Surya Kumar Yadav is likely to miss out as India is looking for sixth bowling option in the form of a middle order.

Venkatesh Iyer will be debuting in this match. With Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal sharing the spin department, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar will share the new ball.

The probable XI would be:

KL Rahul (C)

Shikhar Dhawan

Virat Kohli

Shreyas Iyer

Rishabh Pant (W)

Venkatesh Iyer

Shardul Thakur

Ravichandran Ashwin

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Jasprit Bumrah
