Private travel agencies have raised their fares to Rs 2,000 starting from May 11, the second Saturday, marking the beginning of a long weekend before the elections. On online platforms, several travel agencies have set fares ranging from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000.

An estimated 12 lakh residents from Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema in Hyderabad are expected to travel to participate in the AP elections. IT company employees from Andhra Pradesh, who have a three-day holiday starting May 11, plan to travel during this time. One political party has even arranged for free travel for AP voters from Hyderabad to various locations in Andhra Pradesh through a private travel agency.

Travel agencies are experiencing high demand, with advanced bookings from May 9 to May 12. To accommodate passengers, buses return to Hyderabad from Vijayawada during the day, and additional services are operational during these four days. AC sleeper tickets were priced at Rs 2,200 per passenger from May 9, with further increases likely based on demand.

While private agencies have raised fares to Rs 2,000, TSRTC has maintained regular fares and is planning to increase bus services based on demand.
